Deal of the week · No. 001
He came in for a LandCruiser
1 min · 14 August 2026
Sorting the 200 Series was straightforward. The bigger thing was already in his yard — an expensive rent-to-buy on a K200 that nobody had thought to look at.
What came out of it
The ute wasn't the opportunity.
- The ask isn't always the deal
- He wanted a 200 Series and that part was easy. It was worth a look at everything else on the books while we were in there.
- Rent-to-buy is quick, not cheap
- It gets gear on the ground fast, which is why operators sign. It's rarely the cheapest way to end up owning the thing, and almost nobody revisits it once the truck's working.
- Same truck, different structure
- An approval on the K200 freed up around $400 a week on that file — money already going out the door, on a truck he was keeping anyway.
